In the project, students select an original image in color and the image is scanned into a digital format. In the first panel, you can see the original image. In the second panel, students display the original value scheme of the image. This is done to help students understand the relationship between color and value. For the third panel, the student is allowed to manipulate the color and the value for visual effect. Finally, in the fourth panel, the student is allowed to manipulate color and value as well as using creative tools to manipulate the image.
To enhance the student's understanding of the computer as a tool and to enhance to the interrelationship between digital work and hand work, students must select one of the panels created from the digital presentation and recreate it as an enlarged panel. In the enlarged panel to the left, the student chose to use acrylic paint.
